Finding pet friendly housing can be difficult for renters. Always try to give yourself plenty of time to search for your new home. If you have a dog, always check local ordinances for breed discriminatory laws or pet limits.

If you are struggling to find pet friendly rentals, consider making a pet resume or asking the landlord to meet your well-behaved pets. Provide references, offer an additional deposit, or write a pet addendum. Having liability insurance, Canine Good Citizen Certification, and a spayed/neutered pet helps.
